OK I have been ill all day some weird stomach bug but haven't actually been sick or passed any food. Anyway my BS's are sky high. I have been giving myself huge amounts of insulin all day. When it came down to 12.3 I decided to give my self a bolus and eat. Two hours later it was back to sky high. I am usually very insulin sensitive but not today :? I want to eat something as my BS is now 10.7 but am worried that my BS will remain sky high and I'll wake up tom am with it off the ricktor scale!! So I've been running a temp basal all day but I want to know if it gives you for example +95% for the time you put in( half an hr) or +95% per half hr? I've been putting it on every half hr at +95% but want to run it through the night but not have to wake up every half hr!!! Please can someone let me know as I would really appreciate it.
Thank-you thank-you thank-you

On our device you can run the temp basal for up to 12 hours, although I would not want to run my kids basal higher throughout the night without periodically checking. It will increase by the duration you enter. Perhaps it might be better to increase it for say 2/3 hours and then check. I know that is a bit of a pain when you are unwell and just want to sleep.

No idea how your pump is set up but surely it's the same as all others... tell it you want + what ever, then the next thing is to tell it how long for.
I sincerely hope you have no intention of using a 95% increase overnight

Have you done simple things as in change your site and insulin vial to make sure there is no problem in that dept?
No idea how long you have been pumping but one must assume you have a manual to refer to regarding the setting up of temp basals.

Hi Thanks for replying, I have been running +95% all day and BS are still at 24 or 26 or high. I usually run at 4-12 although 12 is very high for me. Not going to continue the +95% all night but so can't face with waking in the morning with a BS of HIGH.!! The pump is fine it doesn't have a vial in it the whole thing is integrated. No the manual is at my mum's house as we've just moved and we're all over the place!! Might call omnipod themselves just to confirm
But BIG thanks to those of you that replied, much appreciated

You may be better in giving yourself a bolus every few hours and setting the BG check reminder.

I think you can go to their website and download the manual so you can see what you are able to do.

Sorry forgot it a pod you wearing. Have you thought that the pod could have failed? This does happen.
With numbers that high you should correct using a syringe or pen anyway.
