I have cystitis really bad, but haven't had sex recently?? Is there any correlation between diabetes and cystitis??

having your BG in range will help a lot, see the Dr for some antibiotics if it's bad

Having glucose in your urine is an ideal breeding ground for bacteria so we are more prone to cystitis, especially when blood glucose is above 10mmol/l.
Drink plenty of water, also cranberry juice may help, and as said above visit your doctor if it isn't getting better for some antibiotics.

If you read through this article you will see there are several causes of cystitis and diabetes is one of them

• Diabetes. If you have diabetes, your urine can contain more sugar than usual. Passing urine that contains more sugar than usual can encourage bacteria to grow in your bladder and urethra.(If your blood sugars are at an acceptable level then I would look at the other possible causes)

Hi it is not just the girls that get this I have a bad urine infection just now and in strong med to get ride of it and yes when they tested my Urine it had lots of glucose in it bacteria love it

When my sugars were not too good I used to get urine infections/ cystitis all the time. I've bit had one for quite some time now, since my sugars have been better controlled. Horrid things x
