One for the ladies (slightly embarrassing)

Hiya, I have a bit of a weird (and slightly embarrassing) question. I've been feeling really tired for the past month or so, I usually get through a working day and as soon as I get home I flake out and can't do anything the rest of the night. I also can barely get up in the morning. I feel like I never have any energy and I wake up just as tired as I was when I went to bed.

Also, I've been feeling really hungry and I've been getting lots of breakouts of spots on my skin, and my boobs have been quite painful and sensitive for about two weeks now.

I've been reading things about thyroid problems in Diabetics and things like that, does anyone know if this could be that? Or does anyone else have any other ideas?

I've been trying to make an appointment with my GP for a while now, but they are always booked full for two weeks and won't let me book in advance they tell me to ring every morning to see if there's a spot :|

The pregnancy possibility is a good question...Could you be? Those certainly sound like familiar pregnancy symptoms to me :-)

You have the right to be seen by your GP within 72 hours for a non-emergency appointment, and it might be advisable to point this out to your surgery's receptionist. I know many practices have adopted this kind of appointment system, but they still have to adhere to the guidelines; they are just hoping that YOU don't know what the guidelines are.....put them right on that score :-) And good luck!

Hi all, thanks for the replies. I must admit the thought had crossed my mind; I am on the pill but I suppose there always is the tiniest chance since I did forget it a few times about a month and a half ago (although I was fairly sure I didn't do anything silly during that time lol). The reason I sort of discarded the idea was because I didn't feel nauseous or sick and my BG levels have remained fairly stable. I've been reading up on Diabetes and pregnancy and I noticed a lot of women mentioned their BG became really unstable, though maybe that doesn't happen to everyone?

Thanks for the advice Viv I will be ringing them again today and if they give me the same story I will definitely point it out! Hope they will be able to see me soon...

Update: Just made an appointment for this afternoon finally! Bit nervous now, will let you know how it went!

Well, not pregnant! I have to go back on Monday to have a blood test done but the doctor thinks it's probably the aftermath of me having come down with flu twice about two months ago. The test is just to make sure though, which sounds sensible enough.

Have they tested you for sleep aponea I was diagnosed with this soon after being told I had type 2 diabeties I have for the past 9 years had a thyroid problem it seems they are all related in some way.

I think the doctor mentioned the blood test was for kidneys, liver and anaemia. I did mention thyroid problems as I have read about it being related to Diabetes before, is that something the blood test could show?

snap!! lol

these was my symptom when i was being checked for diabetes, they also found i was very anemic too, so they will most likely check for anemia x

Hiya, possible combo of diabetes plus anemeic low vitamin levels n fighting off infections can n do leave you wiped out exhausted n unable to do much, might be also a good idea to ask to be tested for vitamin D defiencey . I have the lot plus an underactive thyroid n it leaves me with a low immune system [catch every bug, virus, illness going ] vitamin D deficiency left me on the floor!! never known such tiredness. Let us know how you go on. Anna.x :)
