One year driving licence - can Insurer raise premium v 3 yr

Hi,

I am a brand new forum.

I am a Type 1 Diabetic with excellent control....well usually !

Was on a 3 year driving licence .

Had minor hypo last year, but Police reported me. Licence Revoked by DVLA weven w/o consultation w/ medical advisors. Did not appeal.

I re-applied and just got licence re-instated after 6 months.

My licence is , however, only for 1 year....can understand why......better than permanent ban.

BUT , will insurers hammer me for having 1 yr as distinct to 3 yr licence, or is that viewed as being a discriminatory act ?

Cheers

Hi, I cant tell you the law but I would think that if the DVLA has granted you a licence it should not be a problem for insurance companies, as long as you tell them you are an insulin dependant diabetic I cant see a problem.
