Catching it early, low diagnostic levels & weight loss are all main factors in reversal.
You seem to be fortunate on all fronts, well done on being so proactive.
I would be interested to know how your body would react to a cheat meal, say 100g of carbs.
A McDonalds or Fish & Chips.
Do you low carb to maintain weight loss or to control bloods or both ?
Great figures, it's great to know you can indulge on occasion without wrecking your progress.
Like you I went from 124kg to 89kg post diagnosis.
As it took about a month for me to purchase a glucometer I've still never seen diabetic readings no matter what I ate.
I shudder to think what they were like in the months/years preceeding, maybe better if I don't know.
I really beieve we are on the cusp of something here, once one of the tech companies come up with a non-invasive wearable the general public will be shocked what the weatern diet is doing to their system.
This low carb generation will be seen as trailblazers.
Cheat Meals - or as I like to call them Reward Meals haha!
I started with 2 larger reward meals a month, but that week I do a lot more weight based training that week leading up to them.
.
Congratulations!Been a long time since I visited the forum mostly down to life and the fact my Journey reached a stable point and I have been living a somewhat normal life since.
So I was Diagnosed T2 In Nov 20 With my HB1AC Being 42 June/Oct, then two Tests at 54 in November.
I started a LCHF diet plan and cut out the Booze.
It took a while to adjust to my new way of eating, mostly the time consuming prep and craving for foods I had eaten all my Life.
My next set of Blood work was done in Feb and HB1AC Came back at 38 and a 22kg Weight loss at this point.
The Huge drop was a surprise in the short time frame of 7 weeks.
My next Test was May and HB1AC Came back at 31 with a weight of 100KG.
So a year in and my blood work is normal, I still eat a HCLF diet and I average around 20-60G Carbs a day.
Dyslexic and Dyspraxia thanks for the notes though would never have noticedCongratulations!
I think you mean 2019 - not 2020
I think you mean LCHF rather than HCLF
Hi,That’s so amazing!!
As someone who need to lose weight too can you give me examples of what meals you have? I’m worried that I’m having ‘too’ much fat or protein. Thanks.
Loads of food ideas and info on low carb and keto here .. most are free. The food you ate to lose weight as well as control your bg please? Thanks.
Well there are plenty of us who had the same idea when we started but after losing 120 pounds with cream in my coffee everyday I guess I"m now converted..!Thank you. I think I’m just in that old calorie mindset. I’m worried that the cream in my coffee or the cheese with my bacon or chicken will not assist in the weight loss too.
I suppose I need to trust the system?
I’m fasting from 8pm till 12pm at the moment so 16/8 at the moment. Hoping to extend that if I can over the next few weeks.
My key aim was to lower my bg. Eating low carb does that for me. The 3 stone weight loss was a pleasant side effect!Thank you. I think I’m just in that old calorie mindset. I’m worried that the cream in my coffee or the cheese with my bacon or chicken will not assist in the weight loss too.

100% Agree it's no coincidence the major Influx of T2 in the western World.
I love data / tracking and would 100% pick something up to monitor myself if it didn't involve Glue Needles and lots of cash ha!
It will come, 10 years ago who would have though we would be walking around with BP / HR / O2 / Cardiogram on our watches.
Top stuff from yourself as well dude, fortunate that you got the same kind of time frame as me and hit the road running!
I had 0 Symptoms by bloods were done due to other reasons, so I could have gone 18 - 24 months before being diagnosed at which point it may have been too late to reverse it naturally.
Like they say you are what you eat!
