This guy on the video is very popular, but I really do not agree with what he is saying about the Courgette. What do you guys think?

 
Corn is not a low carb vegetable, it is a grain - but courgette has never registered as a starchy vegetable for me, I rate it as under 5 percent carbs. It is a summer squash and is picked at an immature stage, I can eat it freely, like cucumber, scarcely a flicker for BG - though it might have some calories - fibre might too, but that is not the same as 'real' carbs.

Same for me - I have got through loads of courgettes this summer (pot grown in my garden) and I've never had a spike from them.
 
I would suggest that everyone eats to their meter, since we all have different blood glucose reactions to different foods.

Regarding his comments - starchy veg are starchy veg (the clue is in the name) and courgette is not a starchy veg. I spike with squash :( but obviously portion size is a factor. Sweetcorn/maize is definitely starchy and I avoid it because of its effect on my blood glucose.

But... but... (I am struggling to find a polite way to say this) I simply cannot take someone seriously when the first words out of their mouth are 'subscribe so you get to see my 3 vids a week'. No mention of content of those vids. And during the course of the video it became pretty clear that he was bulking out (pun!) his material with various topless images of his tanned, toned abs, a yoga pose, and some 'action shots' of chin ups.

He also used the dreaded 'kicked out of ketosis' phrase, which is bad enough. To then blame it on courgettes...!?!?

Very entertaining, I will grant you, but I will continue to eat to my meter, eat plenty of courgettes, and avoid the keto body building mindset like the plague.
