I am currently using a Freestyle Optium Neo glucose meter and was just wondering if anyone else on here uses the same meter?

Sent off for this meter as a spare believing it used the same test strips as my pump, overall it looks a good little meter with a few functions that you don't get on some meters like ketone testing.

I have this meter as a spare for when I'm out and about, I like it but don't use the extra bits.

You want strips for it? I have loads of strips for checking bg and ketones.

I am away to change machine so have no need for them

Thanks so much for the offer but I'm fine thanks, hopefully some other member who has to buy their test strips will take up your offer, thanks again:)

My dr seems obsessed with giving me loads of the strips, at last count, it was well over 3000 bg strips and around 600 ketone strips.

If anyone else can get use out of them, I would rather give them away instead of goivng back to nhs so they can charge people for them (that annoys me so much!!)

How kind of you, as Noblehead says there are people who have to buy their strips so it would be generous thing to offer them to those people first, but if no one else comes forward I would be happy to re-home them for you.

Satindoll, I have soooo many, I can send you some and still have plenty for anyone else who wants/needs. :-)

That is so kind of you, I do get most of mine provided by my GP and most of the time he's very good at handing them out, but there are times when I have to remind him I need them to drive, mainly at the end of the quarter when the accountants are due, so any extra I can squirrel away would be gratefully received if others don't need or want them.

I have sent you a message

I've just started using the neo, what do you think of it? is it pretty reliable?

I like it very much, it reads within 0.5 of my Optium Xceed which I use a night as it has a back light, but other than that, its as reliable as my Xceed.
