Was the test after fasting?
Yes
Diagnosed 13/4/16: T2, no meds, HbA1c 53, FBG 12.6, Trigs 3.6, HDL .75, LDL 4.0, BP 169/95, 13st 8lbs, waist 34" (2012 - 17st 7lbs, w 42").
6/6/16: FBG AV 4.6, Trigs 1.5, HDL 2.0, LDL 3.0, BP 112/68, BPM 66, 11st 11lbs, waist 30".
Regime: 20g LCHF, run 1 mile daily, weekly fasting.
Yes it was after fasting so I did my own test at baseline and two hours after and a few inbetween but the lab test will be based on the 2 hour reading
About 18 months ago. I've had three positive GAD tests in the last 5 years. Do you think the lab results would differ much from my metre?Seems like whatever is happening with the GAD antibodies, you are showing no signs of progression to LADA if your glucose response is still normal. How long since you had an antibody test?
Unless there's a serious problem with your meter, hopefully the results would be close. Must be frustrating having this hanging over youAbout 18 months ago. I've had three positive GAD tests in the last 5 years. Do you think the lab results would differ much from my metre?
I was surprised as I had a reading of 9.1 on my metre the night before after eating chocolate.About 18 months ago. I've had three positive GAD tests in the last 5 years. Do you think the lab results would differ much from my metre?
Yes it is because if I thought the antibodies were active I would really tighten up my glycaemic control. At the moment I am not really looking after my diet. A kick up the butt would help tremendously!Unless there's a serious problem with your meter, hopefully the results would be close. Must be frustrating having this hanging over you
Pure glucose can tend to read lower for some people than starch/grain does. Lots of discussion about this recently on the forum. But it's good that you're tracking your results.I was surprised as I had a reading of 9.1 on my metre the night before after eating chocolate.
Shame you didn't have access to a CGM or Libre while you were doing the test. Two hourly measurements don't really tell you very much. That sounds interesting. .. forgot to mention i felt my eyes were a bit blurry after about half an hour into the test

What were the readings in between? I know when a glucose tolerance test is done on me, my 2hr value is 15.5mmol/l and it peaks around 20mmol/l and then at 4,5,6hrs falls to below 3mmol/lYes it was after fasting so I did my own test at baseline and two hours after and a few inbetween but the lab test will be based on the 2 hour reading

HI Kevin, well that's the problem, if it peaks high and falls fast at worst a fitting hypo. I regularly have a blood glucose of 13mmol falling to 2.1mmol and thats on a low carb diet! Never mind a OGTT, so am banned from drving. Yet my HbA1c will come in as non diabetic as it's a mean of the endless highs and lows. I was diagnosed with diabetes and rebound hypoglycemia in 2003. Keep runningWow...that's a big but I am sure welcome correction at 4,5,6 hours
