Other illnesses diagnosed through having diabetes

After reading other post, I was wondering if anyone had other illnesses that had been found through the regular diabetes blood tests. I've recently had pains in my lower abdomen that i'm trying not to worry about, hoping that if its anything sinister my routine blood tests next month would pick it up.

Dont rely upon diabetic blood tests picking up any other illness.
If you have any other issues with health then please, please talk to gp about them.
Diabetes bloods can pick up a frw things, but not anywhere specific enough to pick up some other terminal diseases etc.....
Far better to get see gp and ask him/her if theres any other tests that could be added on to the diabetes ones to check out the probs you having....
