@Kat100 our nearest £1 shop is I believe 11miles away in one direction and 15miles away in the other, we have a Tesco's or Aldi local and a co-op pop in shop.
Well the pumpkins are all ready for collection so help your selves, have taken the green one to make Squash and Pumpkin soup for Jem, as he says he's never had pumpkin before, hoping he likes it.
Was lovely and warm in here when I arrived which was nice as the mist was swirling round outside, the piggies have had the tiny ungrown pumps with some swede and have put the chopped up greens from the pumps into the chicks greens bowl, the donkeys were out in the paddock as the children were having a riding lesson, they seem to be having a good time so left their polos in the stable.
Will be back later to settle them down for the night.
Hi @satindoll you are a bit far for popping to the shops ..
We have only a small village shop , newspapers and milk really ..
Yes tesco is our nearest , it's the city otherwise .. Can always post you a box or two ;)
I am excited to learn that an Asda is going to open about 7 miles away .. That's how far away the city is to us ..
But they never seem to put these shops on a bus route ..
Even tesco is not on a bus route which is a shame because a lot of people in villages would love it and use it ..
We must start a petition ..

Are you sure you don't live on a farm :)

@Kat100 , no I don't, used to spend some of my holidays as a child on my uncles farm about 10 miles from Pevensey Bay, not far from Pevensey Castle, East Sussex, my grandparents had a caravan on the coast there. Such memories of hot summer hols roaming the countryside and the beaches, happy days.

Sounds lovely

I'm lucky in that the villiage has a Co op store ( not very big ) a Tesco local and we also have a butcher, fruit & veg shop, a fresh fish shop and a bakers. Three miles away is a Tesco super store but I hate that place (too big) four miles the other way we have a smaller Tesco smaller than the super one & larger than their local. Going down the main road today noticed they have built an M & S food hall so that will be handy, pricy too no doubt

That is lucky , I like the sound of having all those shops nearby ..
And a community feel. Where you can go to local shops
Tesco is not getting such good reviews at the moment :wideyed:
But it is my nearest for veggies etc ..

The local shops are handy but also expensive especially the fishmongers & butcher which is why I tend to stick to Aldi & Tesco and yes, if I do walk to the villiage it takes ages because I bump into all the local folk so it's quicker & cheaper to go to the big shops

I might gatecrash here too
Will bring some cans and port with me
Hi guys, just one request to clear up after yourselves. You're welcome to stay over...just pop the bedding in the machine on your way out. Any food waste goes in the pig bin. Recycling bins for cans and glass. Have a good evening all
