Out of date insulin

My pump is too high to get a reading so decided would be quicker to inject using pen, I stupidly realised after I used old insulin which I didn’t realise had expired in January of this year? Can this make me Ill? ‍‍

Very unlikely to make you ill, but the insulin likely won't work as well, being almost a year out of date.

I'd be more worried about the high reading.
Can you test for ketones?
