Hello Amy.
Please KEEP the packaging of this out of date insulin.
Ring or go to your GP's ASAP explain all to them .
Take the packaging along with you !

Let us know how things go .
Its something any one of us who use insulin could do .
So it will be really interesting to hear what a professional says with regards to this.

Anna.

Hi Amy .

Thinking about this more - you come first with this situation ...
Your wellbeing and health come first , please do let us know how things went .

The chemists were clearly at fault in giving you out of date insulin
But this just shows it CAN happen ...

Please give us an update - on what transpires - when you are able to .
Thinking of you and hope all is okay :)

Anna.

Hi Amy

This happened to me/my daughter!
Back in June i had her changed from Levemir to Insulatard, i picked it up from the chemist during the day, she started the insulatard that night, after she'd gone to bed i decided to read the leaflet that came with it and then noticed it was out of date!
I rang the out of hours hospital number who told me to just test her every 2 hours and if high correct, she was 16-18 the whole night long with ketones of 7.4 by the morning :(
I rang the chemist as soon as they opened who arranged for some more insulin to be delivered that afternoon.
