For two months now I have followed a greatly reduced carobyhdrate diet in order to bring my blood sugar levels back under control, when medication was failing to achieve this. Up until fairly recently they had always been within an acceptable range.
Having a recent batch of tests done my Hba1c was back within range, but my cholesterol had jumped from 4.6 to 6.1. Have I over compensated with the proteins and fats for the reduction in the carbohydrates? I understood that my choleterol levels ought to drop.
Any advice would be welcome.
