Had my first review with the diabetes nurse since being diagnosed in December.

I have been following the LCHF diet and having occasional treats/slips. I chose to do diet and exercise only.

My HBA1C has dropped from 7.4 to 5.7.
My cholesterol is back down to normal(forgot to ask number).
My liver function is normal.
I have lost one and half stone!

Thankyou to everyone for the advice, tips and recipes xxxxx

Really well done, please for you.

I can hardly wait until my next one in early June, I'd already lost about 2kg at my last one, but due to different scales, having heavy shoes on or something, it barely showed on the nurses scales. the next one will definitely show, I've already lost 9kg and will probably have lost 2 more by then, and my BG has been really good on the LCHF diet, (with a couple of wobbles).

I love my diabetic nurse, she's really lovely and supportive - plus she's type 2 herself and was really interested to see how the LCHF diet would go with me, she'd read Michael Moseley's book and thought it all made sense. To be honest I didn't make the 800kcal for 8 weeks, just managed about 1000 for 5 weeks, then just low carbed, but the weight kept dropping steadily anyway.

As a bonus, my hiatus hernia seems to have gone too, possibly as a result of the weight loss - so that's one less tablet to take.
I'm really keen to see my cholesterol results - all indications seem to be that it's going to be lower, but though I can see my BG and BP on my own, I've not bothered testing that as it seems it's so prone to error doing it yourself it's not worth it.
