Overnight weetabix breakfast pots

Hi - extremely new to this, just wondering if weetabix is a good alternative to granola and if made into an overnight breakfast pot, will this be beneficial

im type 1 and class weetabix as “magic” food , no matter how much I try I’ve never been able to take enough or not enough insulin to keep my sugars within range when I’ve eaten it. I know everyone is different but personally I don’t eat “ “magic” foods any more try looking at the carb content of both weetabix and granola it might assist in your decision , im sure there will lots of T2s here who will tell you their experiences.
 
One way of looking at T2D is being allergic to carbs, so overall less is better for us.
How many carbs you can eat without raising your blood glucose to much depends on how insulin resistant you are (most t2b are insulin resistant).

The general advice is to get a glucometer (or cgm) and test your blood glucose levels before a meal and two hours later.
The goal is to have a two hours later reading that is less than 2 points higher then your pre-meal value.
If so that was a good meal, if not, try something different or smaller portions. Doing this enables you to make a list of acceptable foods/meals for your situation.

Just for reference: I looked up the nutritional values of Weetabix. The recipe I found listed 67 grams of carbs. That is more then 3 times the total number of carbs I can get away within a whole day, just for breakfast! It's a lot of carbs.
 
Get yourself a blood glucose meter to see which foods spike your blood sugars. You need to avoid foods contains sugar and high carb foods.

I stopped eating breakfast cereal after T2. Some T2 people can tolerate porridge.

My low carb version of this would be
Full fat greek style yoghurt (8, 9 or 10 % fat)
Chia seeds or milled linseeds (aldi and lidl both do good versions of these with different flavours)
A few raspberries, blackberries or chopped strawberries.
All in proportions you like. I often make 5 days worth ahead using 500g pot of yoghurt 5-10 tablespoons of the seeds and 5 handfuls of frozen berries. Mix altogether and eat 1 fifth a day. It gets thicker as the week goes on. Keep covered in the fridge.
You can change the amounts to suit you, and your bg
 
Not including the fact that I have coeliac I would not be able to tolerate that amount of carbs, my sugars would be way up and stay up for far too long. I have found a Keto cereal called Carb0naut, gluten free. Now this is in Canada, but I find the UK has a far better range of goods in the gluten free range, so I’m assuming keto also. The carbs are : 6 g of fibre and 1 g sugar per 30 g of cereal and it tastes good. So cereals are available in the keto range.
 
I'm not the best person to ask because I don't eat either weetabix or granola, or in fact any cereal. It is just too much carb for me, particularly when I'm trying to stay around 20g/day normally.

Are you testing your BG before and after the cereal? That would show you fairly clearly what it does to your BG and then you can make an informed decision about what or how much you eat.

Hi I tried it as over night oats with oat milk or soya milk with hansells light yoghurt but I would add chia seeds about a table spoon worth and that combo works for me but takes 7 to 10 days for it to work

Sounds lovely and overnight oats are one of the things I miss, but as you are on insulin and the OP isn’t this might not work for them
 
It really depends if your sugar are high or not.if they are not high then you don’t need to take medicine
