Is/has anyone done the Oviva programme? I’ve been referred by my DN and been signed up today.

Grateful of any views on its effectiveness as a diabetes management programme & ofc I’ll feed back to the community after my first dietician appointment in a few weeks time
 
Looks like a Newcastle Diet style weight loss programme at least .. or at least that's what their weight loss tier 3 seems to be based on..
I'd be interested to hear what their personalised dietician service is like and what they are proposing for that although personally I would be wary about following their advice before reviewing it.
 
Looking at some of the screenshots on their pages I'd be hesitant .. When they show things like "reduce total fat intake" I start to worry a bit...and pictures of museli with bananas don't fill me with confidence...

The evidence-based curriculum is delivered remotely, via telephone call or app-based coaching, and patients have lifetime access to a library of learning resources (online or paper based as required).

  • Intensive support for high risk patients helps lower medication spend and avoid costly diabetes complications

Good luck ..... you may need it if your personal dietician is anti low carb.

Yeah, I doubt they’ll convince me to do that. The data goes back to the Uni of Mcr so at least I can contribute to the ongoing debate especially re LCHF which is working for me (when I can stick to it)

I remember the shakes back in the 80s. They looked unappetising then (lurid pink stuff) and nowt much has changed as far as I can see.
 
Hi. Difficult when your DN recommends it. If you hear anything about keeping fat down and having enough carbs etc to keep the brain working and so on then run. Many of us just go low-carb with enough fats and proteins to keep us feeling full.
 
Looks to me like the tier3 weight loss (meal replacement based) and the diaberes diet ( advice on constructing a “personalised” eating plan ) arms are different parts of the service offered. Whether either arm is any good, is another question
