Hi Everyone
New to this site and still finding my way around. I would complete the introduction form but can't work out how to yet!

I was wondering if anyone has the same problem as me getting hold of Ozempic? My Doctor prescribed it to me about 6 months ago. I started on the 0.25 dose and then after a month went up to the 0.50 dose and again a month later onto the 1mg dose. I am so impressed with the effect it had on my Diabetes, bringing my sugar levels down considerably and reducing my Insulin intake by about 75%. My weight was reducing steadily (which had not happened for years) and I had no side effects whatsoever.

My Diabetic nurse now tells me that because of Kim Kardashian and the like it is no longer available. I am now taking Empagliflozin 10mg It is absolutely useless and does nothing for me except sends my sugar readings all over the place. I have had to double or more my Insulin intake again and the weight has all started coming back. I use a Libre 2 and now instead of nice steady readings between 5 and 8 I am getting anything between 7 and 17.

Is anyone else having the same problems or does anyone know of a pharmacy that can still supply Ozempic on prescription?

And now the government has announced millions of pounds available to supply it to the overweight people! How about the diabetics that need it to control their illness and where do they think they are going to get it from?

Has anyone had luck in reinstating Ozempic? My prescription was cancelled in June 2023 and it was suggested that supplies would not be available until 2024 probably in the summer.

must be a region by region shortage. Ive never missed a prescription in over a year. Think some of it is staff believing myth and rumours.

Ozempic been on shortage since April 2022 in Australia, and still on-going shortages extended to end of December 2024. (I bet shortages date will get extended to 2025.)

Its very interesting to see how Ozempic is being used more commercially and now there is a shortage

Hi guys, I'm new to the platform. I was diagnosed with Familial HyperCholesyerolism 8 years ago, its a genetic defect and my last bloods show I'm pre diabetic, waiting to see Chemical pathology doc end of January 2025. I am on cholesterol tablets last 8 years and they haven't worked yet to reduce cholesterol levels. So I decided I needed to do something about my diet. I've lost a stone in 8 week's, my target is 2 stone, I'm hoping by the time I go for the chemical bloods end of January then will have better results. I have friends on Ozempic for weight loss, they don't have Diabetes...I know they buy on line from Boots so it looks like its available for private purchase...but there are so many negative health issues from the drug that I have researched I'm going yhr diet route until my doctor offers it me? If anyone has Familial Hypercholesteralism I would really appreciate your input. Thank you x

My dB nurse told me that too. I was prescribed Mounjaro on Tuesday and took my first one today.
