Hello everyone
Hope everyone is well on here?
Just a quick question for anyone who’s on Ozempic what side effects have you suffered?
I have recently been prescribed 1mg and I am have terrible sickness and diarrhoea.
Wouldn’t be that bad but it’s always in the early hours when I’m ill!!!
If anyone else has suffered like this how did you deal with it? Is there anything I can take to get rid of this?
Thanks
Gareth
So....I'm a 78 year old, insulin dependent diabetic for the last 28 years. Decent control with an A1c in the mid 7's. A new to me primary doctor suggested Ozempic to reduce the amount or enable me to get off insulin. Took the quarter dose for 4 weeks with mild side effects ..The half dose for 4 weeks with same minor side effects. Full dose for 1 week and it HIT-THE-FAN. All the mild side effects went off the chart along with my sugar levels. Stopped cold turkey. Put the 5 pounds I lost back on in 4 days. Sugar off the chart. Now 3 months later I have swings from 70. to. 350. Looking for a new Endo Doc. anyone out there having a similar issue? Ron K

I wanted to add something positive to all this negativity. Meds affect people differently, regardless of what medication it is. Ozempic must be started out slow. Initial dose is 0.25 for four weeks, increase to 0.5 for two weeks then 1.0. I have taken Ozempic for the last three months, starting with the lowest dose working my way up to 2.0 (which is my current dose). I've lost 45 pounds since taking the medication and my blood sugar has been between 65 (the lowest it's been) to 135. My A1C was 5.5 last week. I have no side effects beside some occasional fullness. If you have a binge eating disorder, or just eat more than normal you have to keep in mind you cannot bing eat on this drug because it causes your stomach to break down food slower, so overeating will cause you to vomit eventually (plz don't misunderstand I know some people get nausea/vomiting without overeating). Prior to this I took Victoza for over a year and while it helps with appetite suppression it's not as strong as Ozempic (they are both in the same drug class).

I understand your concern about Ozempic side effects. I’ve read that it’s a pretty effective medication for some, but side effects can be a bummer. People have reported nausea, stomach issues, and sometimes even more serious stuff like pancreatitis.

I can tell you exactly what I did. I started taking an over-the-counter acid reflux medication called CIMETIDINE. I had taken this medication about 20 years ago when I was smoking menthol cigarettes - I had terrible acid reflux back then. I’ve suffered from horrible upset, stomachs in the middle of the night. Throwing up on many occasions. Well guess what this medication called Cimetidine completely absolutely cured it!! No more stomach problems. This has been two years ago. The only reason I started taking this medication was because I remembered 20 years ago when I was smoking menthol cigarettes how horrible my stomach felt I was very similar. So I guess I was if it produces terrible acid reflux. Now, the next problem which came about is these bizarre mainly sinus headaches. I know that Ozempic causes headaches or can. I found ouT that i was totally dehydrated and my electrolytes were completely out of order. I started taking these sports powders, which you just put in drinks (drip drop, etc.). FedEx helped tremendously and I have very few of these headaches anymore.

I started taking Ozempic injections for the first time the summer of 2024. I was taking 0.25mg every Friday for several weeks and began experiencing SEVERE SKIN AND SCALP PAIN and SEVERE hypersensitivity. It began approximately after 4 weeks of 0.25mg once time a week. The very first dosage increase from 0.25mg to 0.5mg set off extreme sensitivity, burning, redness. The hypersensitivity is so bad the skin on my face and scalp are in excruciating pain . A breeze or wind brings me to tears. I cannot brush my hair at all. I have had to resort to using a very fine Mist from a humidifier to cleanse the skin on my face. I cannot touch my face with any fabrics. I cannot use my hands to even apply cool water to either my face or scalp. To wash my hair I've had to have help . I use water from a bottle and have to very slowly trickle the smallest lightest stream of water on to my head holding the water bottle approximately 3 to 4 inches away from my head. I cannot use any shampoos, conditioners or anything other than a slight stream of water. I cannot touch my face at all or it burns and throbs to the brink of tears. I cannot lay my head on a pillow or let anything come into contact with the skin on my face. Even the wind is causing me pain. I have resorted using a neck pillow and have to TRY to sleep in a chair sitting up. My head cannot come into contact with anything. If my hair moves I'm in exquisite agony. I've also lost 5 teeth in the past 2 weeks. I've never had any dental issues or problems in my life before taking Ozempic. Today is Feb.28th 2025. On Monday Feb. 24th 2025 I had my # 12 and # 13 teeth Crack. I was eating plain toast. I had to see an emergency oral surgeon who informed me my teeth would have to be extracted as neither could be saved. I woke up Tuesday evening from a nap February 25th 2025 and was in my restroom gently swishing my mouth with salt water per my oral surgeons instructions. When I lightly spat out the lukewarm salt water I heard a clinking noise hit the inside of my sink. It was a piece of another tooth # 26 on my lower right jaw. I had to go to my local emergency room at the hospital due to the awful pain of having an exposed root and pulp from my tooth # 26. When air hit my tooth it it caused terrible pain. I was given a shot of morphine in my arm and sent home with pain medication. I had to wait for the Urgent Dental clinic to open at 7am where again I was told my tooth could not be saved and have another extraction. I've also had the oddest lung congestion that is so bad you can hear my lungs crackle from the next room across the hall. This lung congestion only happens whenever I wake up from sleeping . I'll cough up yellowish thick mucus for approximately 15 minutes and within 30 minutes after that my lungs return to being perfectly clear. This has happened every time I wake up since the day before Valentines Day. I do not smoke, nor does anyone in my home. I do not vape or smoke anything at all. I do not drink alcohol or use drugs. I'm a 43 year old female with type 2 diabetes . I received my type 2 diabetes diagnosis in July of 2024 as a result of being overweight. I've lost 36 lbs since starting Ozempic . The only other medication I take is Lisinpril 20 mg once a day as needed for high blood pressure caused by being overweight. I'm 5 feet 3 inches tall and before I began Ozempic I weighed 220lbs. My diet consists only of foods that grow from the Earth. I do eat meat occasionally and when I do it is chicken, fish, steak or turkey. I also eat eggs and cheese. I only drink water and do not consume caffeine. I have been tested for pretty much everything possible the 9 doctors my General Physician has sent me to trying to figure out what is wrong. I have also been dealing with terrible sinus dryness since beginning Ozempic. I've bought humidifiers, nose gels and sprays. Have tried Vaseline, antibiotic creams, antibiotics, steroid creams, steroids, netty pots ,saline washes, Affrin ,Zyrtec , benadryl and Mucinex. I have not taken my usual Friday dosage of Ozempic today and obviously I have been in constant contact with my prescribing M.D. who gave me Ozempic. The doctor who gave me the Ozempic has asked me to bring in my Ozempic pens along with the boxes they came in. He has confirmed that ALL OF MY PAIN AND SUFFERING HAS BEEN CAUSED BY OZEMPIC!!! I have been tested from the crown of my head to the edges of my toenails. I have had skin and tissue samples taken, blood work, urine samples, stool samples, saliva samples, scratch testing, heavy metal testing, xrays Cat Scans, fat cell taken from cutting it out from inside my lower lip, hair samples, covid testing, ANA filters, DNA liters, pulmonary testing, spinal tap, and was sent to an ONCOLOGIST!!!! EVERYTHING WAS CAUSED BY OZEMPIC!! My doctor who gave me the Ozempic has notified the F.D.A. ( FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION) , poison control was consulted. I have video logs, pictures and journals as evidence because I had to meet a burden of proof to be believed. I also had a sleep study done that recorded the horrible awkward lung congestion. My doctor has also contacted Noro Nordisk a Danish pharmaceutical GIANT who also makes Wegovy!!! I will continue to keep video logs, pictures and journals to catalog and share my nightmare. I will be posting my experiences on social media platforms and any forums I can find. I have a ton of records, data, medical records, witnesses from family members friends and medical professionals. Novo Nodisk is massive drug company and is making TRILLIONS off of millions of unsuspecting, innocent patients who are being sold a ocean of lies . They are profiting off of a get skinny and healthy blight on society. The old adage of " If it seems too good to be true" should be a stark warming and reminder that we patients are seens as dollar signs and these drug companies are profiting financial gains that would make oil companies envious. BE SMART BE CAREFUL BE WARNED!!! I was perfectly fine before I began taking Ozempic..............
