Evening all,
I have been referred to a specialist due to my blood sugars being too high and due to adverse reactions of oral medications I have ran out of options. My doctor has sent me info regarding ozempic, and said it was my decision if I wanted to go on it. Just wondering what people's experiences are of this drug? It would be my first medication where I would need to inject, after being on numerous tablets since first being diagnosed in 2013. Thanks in advance for your help

I have just started on this done my first week on Tuesday will be first time I have injected
 
HI.

I started my Ozempic 3 week's ago my diabetic team started me on the lowest dose 0.25 then after 4 week's I will get a new prescription for the next dose up which is 0.5 I believe.

I was told my dose will increase until my blood sugar start's to improve which I hope will be soon.

Had my 3rd injection on Monday.
So far so good with Ozempic no side effect's which for me is good as I'm terrible usually with new med's.

Can I just ask how's everyone else doing on Ozempic?
Especially once the dose is upped as this is really worrying me.
I also take Metformin & Glicazide.

I've actually noticed I've lost a few pound's since starting this medication was told this is normal.

If you need any help or advice I will help where I can.

As you've read I'm also new to Ozempic had 3 doses so far.

Hoping it's helping with my blood sugar can't test as yet as GP doesn't think I need to test that's where we disagree as of late my sugar levels all over the place.

Waiting for a meter etc to arrive from Amazon.
I really need to know how thing's are progressing with my sugar's as they've just gone crazy I've had a lot of infection's lately and wondering if that as something to do with high level's.

I just started 1st week of Ozempic last week and tomorrow will be 2nd week.

Had some small side effects ie: headache and nauseous on first week.

I'm hoping it is short term on Ozempic to stablized my glucose levels. If I cannot tolerate Ozempic, GP will look into low dose insulin injection once a day. (It also has narrowed down options of Type 2 Diabetes oral medications, esp I cannot tolerate metformin/metformin slow release.)

So now it is only injection treatment once a week. (Was on Trajenta but GP told me to stop taking it when starting on Ozempic as Trajenta wasn't working for me.)

Let see how this treatment go.
 
Hello, I have been on Ozempic for 8 months now. No nasty side effects, have lost a few pounds and my appetite isn't quite as big, a smaller meal now fills me up, so, I would say no harm in giving it a go.
 
I'm 10 weeks in on Ozempic. I started with 2 weeks at 0.25mg then 2 weeks at 0.385mg since then every week at 0.5mg. I've found that it takes a while to get going. This last week has been quite amazing. The weight seems to be coming off fast. I'm down 4 lbs since Monday. To me there seems to be a lead and lag, in that it takes time to build residual Semaglutide into your body and then when its ready it will allow you to let go the weight. In the 10 weeks so far I'm down 14lbs. Yes I've had nausea soft and stiff stools. Nothing unusual. I'm thrilled at the way I'm losing weight. One thing that I've done is try to fast from before 3pm to the following day. I started doing this type of IF about 3 weeks ago. This is the genuine first drug that, is helping me to reduce insulin resistance and thus my weight which for most T2DM sufferers the main cause of T2DM.

I've only used one 4 mg pen so far so that's good too. While its not a perfect drug, gosh it does work, and most wonderfully some of my nice old clothes are fitting now..
 
Be very careful with ozempic if you have diabetic retinopathy, it can increase the swelling behind the eyes..I had to stop my ozempic after my eye specialist hit the roof with my results.

Thanks for making us all aware of what side effects can occur. I had an eye exam done back in early January. The ophthalmologist, gave me a clean bill of health vis a vis my eyes, and said to come back in a year's time. On the + (-) side of things I'm now 13 weeks in and down 15lbs this morning. My body doesn't feel like I'm on any drug at the moment, (clearly though although I am). I dosed myself last night at 0.5mg. I think I'm going to be on this drug for another 6 months to lose a total of 45lbs. At which point I'll be titrating off the drug via the click method and hoping that I can fool my body into staying at the new lowered weight (& thus be T2DM) in remission.

You may wish to get your doctor to fill in a Yellow Card to report this as a possible association with the medication. I am sorry you have been thus afflicted.
