I have never suffered from chronic arthritis, but a few years year ago started to suffer from attacks of gout (which is a form of arthritis.) The attacks got worse and worse, and eventually sent me to search for a cure. I came across bicarbonate of soda, which works by reducing the acid build-up in the joints.
My affected joints were my big toes, but gout can also affect other joints.
Sometimes I would 'overnight' develop arthritic pains in other joints, such as my wrists.
Having a manual job, this was a worry, but each time I have found the bicarb to work. I have been symptom-free now for some 18-24 months.
Just a thought.
It's cheap, fairly harmless in the levels required (although HCPs will query its salt content), and worth a try.
I only take occasionally as a preventative nowadays.
Others take apple cider vinegar, but since I literally can't stand the smell of vinegar (perhaps I was a chip in a former life) that option never appealed to me, especially as bicarb works for me.
