Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me, my husband's pain in his feet is as a result of prolonged uncontrolled blood sugar levels, but if he is able to bring to bring my sugar levels under control, will this result in a reduction or irradication of the pain.
Thanks

I think only a medical expert can properly answer that one, but whether it does or not, he should still strive to bring those levels down to where they should be.
High BG levels cause organ damage with many effects ending up as life threatening.

The doctor won't be able to tell you definitively whether or not the pain will get better - it's different for everyone. Since I started taking my diabetes symptoms more seriously, my neuropathy symptoms (pain, tingling, numbness) have mostly gone, but my retinopathy hasn't got much better. Hopefully better control means it won't get much worse though.

Your husband needs to improve his control for so many reasons, not just focus on the foot pain. Hopefully he'll see an improvement, but don't be too disappointed if he doesn't or if it takes a long time. Improving his control will reduce his chances of developing myriad other complications, so in the long run it's worth all the hard work.
Best of luck :-)
