Hi all my names rob initially diagnosed with type 2 at age of 35 3 years later after several stays in hospital advised it maybe type 1 aS my brother has type 1 since a teen doing a little research I think I’d be classed as 1.5 as the diabetics nurse in hospital said I didn’t seem like someone with type 2 symptoms I wasn’t over weight reasonably fit not too bad diet I’m now on humulin m2 2 times a day and still struggling with glucose levels but a lot better than the 33-38 I was before. But for the last year I have been suffering with extreme pains or also discribed as very awkward discomfort in my lower left leg and feel of my toes or left side of foot curling downward I struggle to sleep most nights due to this or even laid on sofa watching a film etc I’ve told doctor several times had the usual tickle tests and told it’s fine any advice or anyone who can relate would be great as it’s quiet worrying the thought of loosing limbs as we all know many thanks in advance rob

I get something similar, my toes lock in completely unnatural positions and it's fecking sore... I used to get some really awful cramps that would wake me up in the night... not good times. GP really no help, offering quinine with the comment "there's not much evidence to support it's use"!!! I've wondered about mineral deficiencies, Magnesium and Potassium and taken supplements but never been sure they've helped.
Cramps are better, I do 15 mins of stretching every morning after taken my fasting BG and think this has helped.
Toes: they are still pretty bad.

I wish you well with yours.

Me too.
Awaiting my annual feet test as ulcer which has dried up on my baby toe which occured without pain is still discoloured (3-4mths later). GP got me referral to podaritist who did tickle test (and blood pulses in feet) and I'm so anxious I'm 110% alert with my feet complaint that of course I passed. My senses are heighted at mo. (Blood pressure up too at appointment).
I was told my feet check in january can refer me back to podaritist if any further concerns.
I'm no longer taking supplement r-ala which definitely works. Just cannot afford it coming up to xmas with a young family on low-income.
If you can afford it. I highly recommend it.

You might like to consider just how much water you are drinking as it can cause problems if you drink too much rather than what you need - low electrolytes is one possibility - and they can cause random muscle contractions which are very painful and can cause damage to the muscle fibres and spasticity of limbs in the worst cases.

I have been using ALA for a few weeks, and it has helped. I was often unable to sleep for an hour or more on going to bed, with cramp in my toes and difficulty with getting my feet warm. Having Raynauds (fingers go cold and white with cold or even vibration) probably not helpful either. It has not been so bad lately so its worth a try!
