I need help am type 2 and wake up with pains for 3 days had pain in my left foot can hardly walk a couple weeks ago it was my right foot then it was my left hand and arm followed by my right arm it keeps happening but in different places.. does anyone else experience this? It seems to start suddenly last between a day to a week then goes as just like that... It's really getting me down.
 
Hi @lucytay10 and welcome to the forum. You will probably need to see your GP about this and maybe be referred to a specialist for tests to see what's causing these distressing symptoms.

There some medications that people with T2 are often prescribed that may cause issues like this. If you feel comfortable telling us of any meds you take that might help us know which experiences are most relevant to share. (For safety, you should not stop any medication unless you've discussed it with a doctor.)

Having blood sugars above the normal range for a long time can cause all kinds of issues, so if you are having difficulties there please let us know and we can offer you info and support. Hang in there, hopefully you find some answers from your GP soon.
 
I was put on metformin but have not really taken them think because been depressed the pain is getting me down also found out got sleep apnea think it's all getting a bit much and got myself in a rut and just don't know what to do.
 
Also have really bad thrush just fed up of it all.. I am only 35 but had endometrial cancer and had a full hysterectomy and going through forced menopause and then got all these issues aswell bus to given up I thjnk
 
Lucytay i know how u feel,just been diagnosed myself with type 2

I have just started going to the gym walking on the treadmill has made my aches and pains go away
You need exercise , walking moving yourself

Please don't give up, high blood sugars can be treated, and they are linked to thrush in many cases. If you go to your doctor and get treatments for the thrush and high blood sugars, and other things you need, you will be a lot more comfortable and able to face each day. I have sleep apnoea too, and it's one of the easiest things to treat compared to the other medical conditions I have.

I recommend writing a list of issues to raise with the doctor. Make a longer appointment time if you can, if not, read the list at the start and ask the doctor how he or she can help you get the time with a doctor that you need.

High blood sugars make you feel depressed, exhausted and sick. That was me two weeks ago. With help from my GP and a nurse, I am feeling almost back to normal now.

Do you have a friend or family member who can help you organise the appointment? I found that very helpful when I was at my most depressed about it all.
 
Hi Lucy and welcome to the Forum. I think the best course of action is to return to your GP, you have multiple issues going on and it is beyond our remit to diagnose. Please do that and come back and tell us how you got on (if you want to). Going forward we can help you get your Diabetes under control. All the best at the Drs.

Hi Lucy so sorry for all you are going through at the minute but don't give up I'm new on this forum I've been diagnosed t2 for 14 years now and I know how you feel re random pains appearing anyplace thrush is definitely another **** symptom of diabetes and high sugars I am on Meds for depression so that doesn't help the situation either but a visit to your GP can sort a lot of these unpleasant side affects. All we can do is keep going! Having been on Metformin for that length of time I've stopped taking it on my GP s advice and have greatly increased my insulins but have looked at the advice and posts here , there is hope let your GP help you get into a better frame of mind and you will find your coping skills improve good luck and I really hope you feel better soon
 
I had dreadful aches and pains when put on Metformin and a statin plus other side effects, so I stopped taking them in late 2016. Most of the problems faded away, but not one ache in my left leg. Recently I began to take a fizzy vitamin product and the pain went away on about the fifth day.
As the pain has been very persistent I do not propose to experiment by stopping the tablets, and it might be the extra hydration which has helped of course - I make a pint of weak low carb squash and add the tablet as I don't like the taste.
It might not help at all - I took multivitamin and mineral tablets on and off for a while but that did not seem to help - but it has been quite a relief for me to get rid of such a persistent aching.
 
It sounds to me like you need to get this followed up with your doc..... your pain could be caused by absolutely anything and may not have any relation to diabetes. I hope you get answers. I wish you the best.
