I would suggest your first port of call would be your GP. There could be various reasons for your foot pain, and each my have a different solution.
In answer to your question tho, yes you can have an injection into your foot. My wife did for "Policeman's Heel".

It might be gout, in which case there is treatment, but it could be several other things as @Grandadfatboy rightly suggests. One of the things to do beffore you get to see someone is to elevate it. In the case of gout I elevated my foot and tried to keep it as cool as possible.
