Can someone tell me if the pains I am experiencing in hands and feet (mostly) will get better or are they here to stay? Thank you
 
I think you are venturing into doctor country. Although neuropathy can give pain I don't think anyone on here is qualified to say whether your pain is due to neuropathy. It would be best to take it to your GP.
 
Do you take Simvastatin by any chance?

And did you have foot / hand pain (a hot sensation and or tingling like pins and needles) before you were diagnosed?
