just a quick question
I have a chronic back problem which now and again flares up to total agony levels I am taking Morphone and antidepressants for it but what I would like to know is if the raise in pain is likely to affect blood sugar levels? I know we all react differently to things and I need to log my bloods in relation to my pain levels which I tend to forget since I am to busy trying to get get through the pain
(Writing it down would be helpful) springs to mind
Thanks again for this wonderful site most of my questions are answered before I even ask them
Have a great weekend everyone
Jan

Yes any stress to the body can effect bg levels, however some medications can also effect them so its always best to check the patient information leaflet that comes with the drugs or ask your pharmacist.

Hope you have a pain-free weekend Jan.

Hi Jan. The wife has major problems with her spine and legs, she is on all sorts of pain killers and she has T2. Yes they do effect them. Her 'normal fasting' is between 6-7 mmols. Not bad but normal is between 4-6 mmols. When she tests you do have to take the meds into the results.
Hope this helps.

Thanks nosher gosh I feel for your wife there are times when I could chew my own legs off with pain, I keep a food diary with blood readings (still fairly new at being diabetic) I guess I also should keep my pain levels in the same place.
Love to your wife
Jan
