Painful sites

Hi guys I have a 10 day rotation of injection sites. Most times when I get back to the first site, there is still a lump there that is way too painful to inject. Should this be the case after ten days or am I doing something wrong. I’m injecting 60 units of levemir using the novo nordisk pen and bd micro fine needles. ( God forbid, I hope I’m not being a sissy. Lol)
 
How long are those BD needles? I've found the 5mm just as effective as the 8mm but with a lot less trauma to my midriff, and not any sign of leakage after withdrawal.
 
I agree with hobs, try changing to a smaller needle and see if this helps.

Blimey .. somebody got lucky! My lot can't find the BD Nanoneedle :cry:
 


If that's the name they are looking for I am not surprised.......it is called.......

BD Micro-Fine™ + 4mm 32G Pen Needle.

As all the BD needle range are in the BNF60, the prescribing bible they only have to write a scrip for this and the Pharmacist can then supply it for you. Hope that helps.
