Hi @P1ckle
Your description of the pain is exactly what I experienced last October after a week on holiday eating carbs and watching my blood glucose fluctuate wildly.
When I got home and got my blood glucose steady again, the pain disappeared. And since then I have also supplemented with R ALA.
Now, obviously, I can't claim that what helped me, will help you, but I think the advice you have been given above is excellent, and I would encourage you to avoid blood glucose highs (going low carb will help a lot with that).
Have you read the www.bloodsugar101.com website? It is written by a T2 who has gone through a lot of the research and discusses it. She explains the importance of maintaining our blood glucose below certain levels in order to reduce the risk of nerve damage and developing diabetic complications. Well worth the read!
Hope that helps!
