Can anybody help with this please? My daughter had gestational diabetes and was told by a dietitian that she should be pairing foods I.e ensuring the fat and protein together outweighed the carbs. Does this principle work with type 2 also?
My husband has recently been diagnosed with type 2 and although he has cut the carbs quite a lot was wondering if this principle would apply for him.
Most definitely. Lower carbohydrate and higher fat are perfectly suited to type 2 diabetes. Some also offset the carbohydrate energy with extra protein as opposed to all fat.
