Hi,
About 6 years ago I had Pancreatic Surgery to treat chronic pancreatitis. The surgery took over nine hours which left me with a huge scar and a swollen tummy which sort of looks like a small beer belly or a pregnant woman. I also became type 2 diabetic. The type of surgery I had is called a Frey's Procedure named after an American/German surgeon who devised the procedure in the 1950s. Basically the pancreas is cored and part of the head removed. You can Google "Frey's Procedure" for more details. "Frey's" is pronounced "Fry's" as in Stephen Fry.
My question is, I am very keen to hear from and /or communicate with anyone who has had this type of surgery and /or anyone one who has similar surgery called Whipple. I would like to exchange information, ideas about health and lifestyle changes that could be of benefit to all that have and will have these type of procedures.
Hoping to hear some positive response in the near future.
Kind regards,
Hugh.
