Hi I have a question,I was diagnosed May 5th type 2 (hba1c 97) but cause I suffer from chronic pancreatitis and I went yesterday to see the specialist and he said he couldn't do anything about my pancrease cause it sounds like its slowing down then it will stop producing insulin altogether and I will be type 1,also I would have to self inject,

Now when you self inject insulin how do do count how man carbs you have per meal or don't you

Hi @Badboydavey1 :)

There are carb counting courses you can attend. There's also an online course you can do. Also, you may be able to get help from a dietician.

I can't answer your question about pancreatitis, but hopefully some members with experience of that will be able to help.

Oh right well I no there's nothing they can do about the pancrease but my local district diabetes nurse is trying to sort out my levels with gliclazide full dose and metformin 500mg daily but increasing next week, when I asked her about a dietitian she said I'm not saying no or yes but at this time she wants to concentrate on getting my levels down

I'm no medical person, but getting your levels down does sound sensible. That's really important. I hope you get the meds you need to do that :)
