Peanut butter

I loooooove peanut butter and I was so happy today when I read that it's only 1carb a teaspoon. I have the one with no added sugar organic. Please tell me this is correct. :thumbup: :thumbdown:

Just had a look at it http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/ ... F_61335415 - it has 9.9g carbs per 100g. It has quite a lot of calories, so if you are trying to loose weight it may be best to eat it in moderation.

Also it may be worth trying to make your own. You can then control what goes in.

My daughter recently made some and vowed never to buy shop bought again,

I think she just blitzed peanuts in a food processor

That is all. For even more diabetes friendly nut butter, use Almonds. Some jucers come with a nut butter attachment...

Some (in fact, most common) brands have that completely unnecessary cane sugar added. I'm sure that's just to make you eat more of it!
