Peanut Butter

The best one I've found is 'Whole earth' brand and it's available in Tesco, sainsburys,Asda and Morrisons.

Whole Earth peanut butter has no added sugar.

There are naturally a few carbs in peanuts so you'll never get a zero-carb version.

Are you all crazy   . Only joking but peanut butter is soooooooo simple to make . Its just peanutsand oil (olive or sesame oil not too much sesame though or will spoil taste.any good quality oil will do) and some salt . Blend roughly some peanuts thenadd a bit of oil & blend again and repeat process of adding oil till right consistancy if gained. I you require it crunchier then add more peanuts at end and do short bilts till suits your requirements. Add salt to taste .You can also use this method with other nuts cashew, barzil &macadamia nuts taste great . Hope this helps

Do you use unsalted peanuts? Sounds good and much better than bought stuff.

When I made it I did use salted but did not use extra salt. :D it may also be wort making and then trying to add stevia to small portions to see if the sweetness improoves taste . Obviously last time I made it sugar wasnt a problem :?

Once you've made the basic nut butter, add a tsp of cocoa powder and a tsp of honey and a little water if it's too thick. Now you have a nut chocolate spread! Or roll it into balls and you have truffles. Add a little cream and you have a nutty chocolate sauce. The possibilities are endless.

Now that sounds great! Definitely going to have to make myself some nut chocolate spread :D

Exactly the same as for peanuts. Obviously minus the peanuts and pluss the almonds ( that bring siad it thing I wouldnt use only almonds because of the strenth of taste )

Oh my goodness, that chocolate spread sounds AMAZING! Thanks so much for the tip, I'm definitely going to be trying that this weekend :) Did you use regular peanuts or something a bit more exotic?

Hi wiseowl!

Any peanuts will do - although they need to be plain - not salted or dry roast etc. Alternatively, buy a jar of peanut butter (but make sure it hasn't got sugar added - some do, some don't - and mix the cocoa etc into that - it's quicker :D
