I understand you can get enhanced pensions due to being a diabetic. I am a prison officer aged 61 and working part time at the prison. Ian currently in receipt of my civil service and military pensions since the age of 60. Am I entitled to enhanced pensions because of my condition? I am also in receipt of a war pension from the military due to service in N.Ireland should I contact NORCROSS concerning the fact I am. Type 2 diabetic to ask if my war pension should be increased due to my diabetese?
 
Enhancements to final salary schemes usually take place if you retire early due to ill health, not once they are in payment. If you have money purchase pension funds not yet in payment, you can ask your adviser to get you enhanced annuity quotes.
