Will massage repaire neuropathy of the feet
Has anyone had success in restoreing numbness in the toes?

From various posts at various forums that I've read over the years, most people's neuropathy improves by gaining control of their blood glucose.

Heard an interesting interview with a peripheral nerve surgeon, Dr Richard Jacoby with Jimmy Moore. The doctor believes that sugar is the major reason for nerve damage. He's written a book called "Sugar Crush":

I have been told that it is very unlikely that I well get feeling in my feet and fingers again, as I was diabetic long before I was diagnosed, the damage is set. Don't get disheartened with my diagnosis, as we think a lot of my health problems are down to serving in the first gulf war.

I have had it for over ten years..
I dont think it ever improves, (as I was told by consultant) and in my case I think
he was correct.
However, what I have found is it diminishes over the years, mainly bacause you
simply learn to live and ignore it.

DH's feet were very painful and he winced when he walked. After a couple of months on the LCHF diet, they suddenly became worse. I read on this forum that could have meant the nerves were regrowing because of the diet.
Lots of googling later, he started taking benfotiamine, R-lipoic acid and acetyl l-carnitine. Noticed an improvement after only a few days and he no longer winces when he walks. Result!
Thanks to everyone who wrote about their experiences with benfotiamine. Very helpful. It's brought his BG down too - he's T2.
