Pet household chore hate

No second thoughts on this one; Giving a bath to my dog. We do it once a week (weekends) and without exaggeration, the entire day goes in getting him in one place and scrubbing him down. He absolutely detests water. And I'm starting to detest weekends myself because of this.

What is he?

Up until today I didn't have any household chore hates but having cleaned through my apartment, ending with steam cleaning the hard floor areas I HAVE ONE NOW! Sparkling floors were introduced to my son, his wife, children and dog who had all just enjoyed a riverside walk, I hate doing the same job over again!!!

I had forgotten about this thread but strangely was wondering to myself this morning which I dislike most - ironing egyptian cotton bedding or pulling all the hair out of plug holes that accumulates. The ironing wins hands down!

Here too, seeing as the only hair I have to clear from plugholes is my own, these days I don't mind. It was different with 3 children a hubby and a dog but then it was hubby's job to clean the bathroom ha ha

Brought myself a Fast Press for the Egyptian Cotton bedding makes life so easy,

I don't have any chores I hate doing .. As the wife will do anything before I need to .. BTW .. The wife grows cobwebs on the walls and ceiling, also deep dust on shelves  so she can photograph them .. Don't ask why .. She is an artist

My late hubby once came home from a muddy mountain walk, took off his boots and left them to dry just how they were so he could take a photograph the next day, definitely an artist thing but very odd

Ideal World has them, not cheap but well worth the money, not just bedding though curtains all the big heavy stuff a doddle, they do interest free flexi pay too wouldn't be without it now.

You are such a sweetheart @satindoll, many thanks. I was wondering about large items like that but now you've reassured me I am definitely going to have one. I can hear my debit card screaming from my handbag, but needs must ;)

Your welcome, for king size duvet covers fold in half side to side then fold again, concertina the length tuck behind table then feed out bottom first, re concertina and do the same for the other side and done, dampen slightly if bone dry, for super king fold top to toe then fold again. or whatever way suits you but that's what I do.

When doing curtains be careful of the top hook tape if plastic/nylon cover with damp tea towel or similar before lowering top, I always iron on the back of curtains gives a better finish. hope that helps

Yes definitely and i'm so glad you wrote that.............I hadn't got as far as curtains, just relishing the thought of not sweating over horrible bed linen, but of course there's so much other stuff that will be easier. Yippee :D Thanks again.

What's ironing? Everything gets folded flat and put in the airing cupboard. My sister in law used to iron everything including socks, towels, pants. Life's too short :)

Any more questions please feel free to ask, just one other tip when finished with it turn off and leave open for a few hours to allow foam cushion to dry out completely new cushions and covers available direct from Fast Press , I find mine last on average 9-12 months and do remember to wash the cover in warm salt water before use as sometimes they can leak a bit of blue dye.

I hate hate hate washing dishes with a passion! If I had space in my kitchen I'd have a dishwasher put in but alas my postage stamp sized kitchen will not allow it :( now on the other hand I love ironing and scrubbing floors I find it a great stress reliever
