Very interesting. I live in a country with a very high rate of type 2 diabetes (and high sugar consumption), and yet many of the diabetics whom I know are nowhere near obese - in some cases, they are below normal BMI. If obesity were the only risk factor for diabetes, these people should be in the best of health.
