Can't believe I managed to beat @Indy51 with the Prof Tim Noakes video...!

I hope they included all of the 5 minute standing ovation he got at the end..

Edit to add looks like they did.. inspirational..

I've just finished watching the presentation. What a truly inspirational man and it doesn't hurt that he is an honorary Scouser. Seriously though, not only have I never heard him present a talk without an apology about his former stance but he actively explains why he was wrong proving that there is no bandwaggon parked outside of his gaff.

A total inspiration and so many people were in tears by the end ....I was honoured to be there.

You were there?! I am so, so envious. Tim and Aseem are men who I would dearly love to hear in person.

Dr David Unwin (it's been posted on another thread, but thought I'd add it here for complete coverage of the conference videos):

Really interesting video but disappointed it is all about weight loss and no examples of “thin” patients.

You will find very little on TOFIs, usually mentioned in passing but from what I can gather it is a case of 'degrees' i.e. some people can fill up adipose tissue to a greater degree than others before it becomes a real problem while others, even though they are within 'normal' BMI tend to store excess fat in (intaorgan) and around the organs esp the liver and pancreas thus leading to (just my understanding) a speedier arrival at the Diabetic stage. What I would dearly like to be addressed more is a way to stall/stop weight loss whilst still being able to get good bg markers. I have found that only Bernstein has talked of this directly and that was in regard to an elderly, frail lady with T2, his advice was very low dose insulin to protect her fat stores.

Fair enough but after various tests and blood tests sand scans, have always been told everything is fine and liver function is great. I have never been told I am a TOFI. Every dr I’ve seen is confused yet I diagnosed as T2. Frustrating

You're probably aware of this but up to 20% of those diagnosed with T2 are not overweight. This fact alone shows just how far away we are from finding definitive causes.
Have you been tested in regard to LADA?

Yes but inconclusive. I had to do a c peptide test after eating yet everything I read it usually gets done fasting. Confusing. I am aware many T2s are not overweight but someone suggested in that case you MUST be a TOFI. Who knows...,
