Physical scan not working on libre 2

Has anybody else ever had a problem with their libre working ok but refusing to physically scan ? sometimes if I'm out of range I get the usual out of range message and just scan to get the reading but the sensor I fitted 3 days ago and was working fine just stopped me using a physical scan , it's working fine so I can just leave it but was just wondering why this has happened .
 
Sometimes the old turn it (the app) off and in again works. Ditto turning Bluetooth off and on again. Ditto turning phone off and on again.
Or it could be a sensor going faulty...

I think it must be a faulty. sensor , it Bluetooths to my I phone but just won't scan if I have a signal loss , it ends in 8 days time so will just hope it's ok with a new sensor .

Did you try turning NFC off and on.

I get the occasional one beep rather than two which indicates a failed read, but have never got into a state where NFC does not work or where I have had to resort to tricks like turning NFC off and on or phone restarts to try to get it to work. For me, it is much more reliable than the bluetooth connection.

Scanning uses the NFC and has nothing to do with Bluetooth.
Have you checked you have not accidentally turned off NFC?
Or do you use it with anything else such as Apple Pay which you can check if it is still working?

(None of this has anything to do with the sensor - it is a phone setting.)

Hi, I don’t think you have a faulty sensor as I’m getting the same error message! But thanks everyone for the suggestions of switching Bluetooth off and on - will go try that!

Thanks but on my iPhone SE the nfc is always on there is is no option to switch it off or on so I will just have to keep my fingers crossed in 5 days time that the new sensor works ok .

Might still be a good idea to find some other way to test NFC.

I've read a description of the way some iPhone's handle nfc as being "smart-enabled". In other words it is disabled until IOS thinks that an app needs it and that occasionally (particularly after an IOS update) an app would not work because IOS did not realise it wanted to use it.

The recommended solution was to either install a third party NFC utility or add a credit card to Apple Pay and test that that is able to work with NFC. The assumption is that Apple Pay or the third party app is able to inform IOS that NFC is needed and so NFC then because available to all other apps.
 
Thanks I will give that a go , I have Apple Pay so could try it down Sainsbury's later on today . It does seem odd though that it was working fine for about 3 days after fitting the sensor and then stopped .
 
Another thought I've just had , if the NFC has stopped working on my phone it won't allow me to scan a new sensor then I will be ******** .
 
Thanks for the advice you have given me , last week I didn't even know what NFC was , I got in touch with Abbot this morning who told me to change the sensor but that didn't work so ruled out a sensor fault , I then visited Costa and tried to pay with Apple Pay which failed so then visited the Apple Store where I bought the phone 16 months ago ,so out of warranty , who confirmed that the NFC had failed and would honour the warranty and replaced the phone so now back to normal , PHEW .
