Pins and needles in feet

Hi i have been getting a tingling sensation in my feet and legs for the past couple of months its gradually getting more frequent, after the tingling my toes go numb then after a few minutes the feeling comes back, I have been diagnosed with diabetes yet, got blood tests for it this tuesday, my dad is type 2 and my grandad is type 1 and has also had both his legs amputated below the knees because of diabetes. Do you think this is a sign i might have it.

I am thirsty all the time always going to the toilet, have had a really big appetite over the last few months but put that down to quitting smoking over a year ago. I am 23 years old 5ft 3 with a waist measurement of 33 inches. Has anyone else had the same.

annoyinly i have to wait til the 27th for the results but have a fasting blood test on the 19th to test for diabetes, anenmia, thyroid and heart disese.

if you are in the uk, you could perhaps go to lloyds chemist and get a hba1c done in 5 minutes and whilst there buy some ketostix, itll cost a bit but if you can afford it you wouldnt have to wait 2 weeks, just an idea

i am not sure but i think you only need fast for the cholesterol test but i cant really remember maybe have a look at their website or give them a call in the morning, sorry im vague it was a while back that i did it, i do remember only some of them do the tests so you will have to give them a ring to find out which ones do and dont but its really fast, they just oput it in a machine in front of you and the result takes minutes, makes you wonder why the doctors tests take so long

thanks will def do that tomorrow, i had a chloresterol test done a couple of months ago and my reading was over 5,
I am the heaviest i have ever weighed which is 10 stone 7 when i weighed myself earlier, i quit smoking over a year ago
and joined the gym did a year at the gym and quit a few months ago( wasn't going as often as i should) and since then i have had these problems when i was a smoker i never weighed over 9 stone so i just assumed it was down to not smoking why i was so hungry all the time xxxx

it may be the smoking and appetite, it maybe that the exercise was keeping your bloods down as it does reduce bgs and now you stopped they went up, it may be something else, the test the chemist does shouldnt replace what the docs will do, it just may put your mind at rest over that, well done with the smoking :)
