Hi my partner is type1 and is Seriously struggling with his sugars and pins and needles down his left side ...
The pins and needles usually kick in when he goes in to hyper or hypo but his sugars ATM are so out of control that he keeps going from hypo to hyper in a matter of mins we have tried everything we could think of but we can't get them stable and with the pins an needles he is terrified but no medical person is helping all we get us take better care and monitor

Please can some one help????

Sounds like he should change doctor first ! OK, there's no easy way to stabilise BG levels, it requires some work and patience. As you are no doubt aware, too much insulin causes lows, not enough causes highs. If you get this balance right for the majority of the time, it makes life so much easier. Does your partner count carbs and adjust insulin or fixed dose or pump ? More info is required really. As for the pins and needles, this may or may not be hypo/hyper related, it may be something totally unrelated to diabetes. Has your partner attended a DAFNE course ( Google it ) ? What is his diet like ? Sorry for answering your question with more questions but it's difficult to advise without knowing a little more. I would get back in touch with doc ( different one if poss ) and keep going back until they try to help.

Hey don't worry x he's on insulin pens at the moment trying to fight for the pump but they keep refusing and saying he doesn't qualify for it which is rubbish as his hb is always above nine his injection sites are hardly there anymore as all the fatty tissue has gone he does the carb count as well as me doing and double checking especially at the moment with everything happening x
Have tried specialists and DN but all the same answers an thats when we can get hold of some one.. we are just so stuck and seeing him soo scared is awful as I can't do anything other than what I am doing :(

X
