Hi - since being diagnosed with Type 2 I have been given 3 types of medication - Pioglitazone Gliclazide and Metformin which all give me side effects mainly skin rashes on my back etc - I havent yet found anything my doctor can prescribe so have now taken it upon myself just to try and treat with better diets?
I am alergic to penicillin (same side effect) but unsure if this is related - I have my diabetic revue in 2 weeks so is there anything else I could take/suggest that doesnt give those side effects.
Any advice gratefully recieved !

Thanks

i think there are alternatives.. my metformin and gliclazide gave me tummy aches initially but ok now.. i get very itchy with the drugs.. suppose itching for one is perhaps rash etc with those sensitive skin?.. skin very dry here.. hows ear wax?.. any changes noticed?.. sore eyes?

I have always suffered from dry skin - and excessive ammounts of earwax - guess I will retry those pesky drugs again :( and try and stick with one ! - thanks for the reply :)

Hi. The other drug to try is Sitagliptin. It reduces sugar spikes and has few side effects. Are you sure all 3 of your meds are causing the skin rashes? How about stopping one at a time and seeing what happens?
