Type of diabetes
Type 1
Hi all

A little advice if possible, I have type 1 diabetes and substantial damage to my autonomic nervous system, near complete failure, this causes collapse and other problems on top of this I have a LBKA. I have been receiving pip for the past year and now they have revoked it.

Hi @homer190376
Sorry you are having difficulty with PIP benefit.
You ought to have been given a reason for the benefit being stopped , and your right to appeal. There is generally a time limit, though, so don’t delay. Contact the DWP , the address will be on the letter. Ask for reasons your benefit has stopped. Tell them you want to appeal. Seek professional advice. This could be from your local authority, or CAB.

Also the website
has useful guides

I'm not a PIP expert I am responsible for my son's claim and am wondering why you would have lost an award. PIP is normally given for a fixed period with a review form sent about 6-9 months before award ends. Have you had a review form or has it got lost in the post? If you are not sure I'd ring DWP up and ask. You need to put up with a tedious wait to be put through but advisers I've found that they are helpful and can have a look at your records and let you know what's happened. We had a delay in my son's review form arriving a few months ago because of Postal delays so we got it eventually with a very short return date so I had to ring and had to negotiate an extension. If you have put review form in and not got the award you can ask why and go for initially a Mandatory Reconsideration and if this doesn't improve your points you can appeal but it's not easy. PIP is not about conditions but how they impact on you and how they affect your daily activities activities like washing and bathing, food and drink etc- as I'm sure you'll know if you've applied and got an award. There are some very helpful charities who have fact sheets and some if you pay to become a member offer forums and advice. Two helpful ones I've found are
