Yesterday I had to go into Outpatients for a pre-procedure discussion prior to a heart investigation next week.
My medical notes showed I was on insulin. No I'm not: I'm on 2 doses of Metformin daily and my bloods have been in the non-diabetic register since October. For the first time since initial diagnosis of T2 while in hospital in September for something else, I was congratulated!!! on bringing my bloods down through diet, technician knew all about what diet was required, and what's more had heard about Dr. Michael Mosely's work.
It was so nice to hear some words in favour of what I was doing and had achieved, and this wasn't even from anyone who worked with diabetes. It has really restored my faith in (some) medics.
