Hello all,

I had done my GTT(Glucose Tolerance Test) before 5 months and the result was as below -

Fasting -
5.2 mmol/l

Fasting Urine -
Nil

After oral ingetion of 75 gm of glucose -
1 hour - 11.4 mmol/l
2 hour - 10 mmol/l

Urin - After oral ingetion of 75 gm of glucose -
1 hour - Nil
2 hour - Nil

Note: at that time I had not done FBS and PPBS tests.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then I consult to the doctor and told me to take Glycomet 500 twice in a day for 3 months.
and I started the same as told by doctor. Also I am doing walking(till today) for 30 mins every day and I reduce my weight 14kg by doing diet and walking.

Then again I had done FBS and PPBS after 1.5 months when I was taken my medicine (glycomet 500)
and I found my report normal which is as below -

FBS result -
5.2 mmol/l

FBS Urine -
Nil

PPBS -
after 2 hour(from the lunch) - 6.1 mmol/l

PPBS Urin -
Nil
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now my 3 months of time of medicine(glycomet 500) was completed and then again I had done FBS and PPBS test.
and again I found my report normal which is as below -

FBS result -
5.4 mmol/l

FBS Urine -
Nil

PPBS -
after 2 hour(from the lunch) - 6.2 mmol/l

PPBS Urin -
Nil

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I again consult to the doctor and told me to take Glycomet 500 twice in a day for 2 months more.
and I started the same as told by doctor.
Then again I had done FBS and PPBS after 2 months when I was taken my medicine (glycomet 500)
and I found my report normal which is as below -

FBS result -
5.3 mmol/l

FBS Urine -
Nil

PPBS -
after 2 hour(from the lunch) - 6.1 mmol/l

PPBS Urin -
Nil

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then I again consult to the doctor and told me to do test of HbA1c.
Again the report of HbA1c was normal, result as below...

20 - 41 mmol/mol (non-diabetic)

Now doctor again told me to take medicine glycomet 500 twice in a day.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear all,

Now my questions are -

DO I REALLY NEED TO CONTINUE MEDICINE(GLYCOMET 500) TWICE IN A DAY?

If yes then for how much time for
medicine I should take?

Still I am a Type 2 diabetic patient or pre diabetic?

If I am a pre diabetic, then how much chances for future that it will be convert to the Type2 ?
PLEASE PLEASE ADVICE ME....Waiting for your reply.

Firstly, you've made great progress so far. As for the meds, I'd do, or at least discuss things with your doc rather than take advice from a forum. The great progress so far has partly been down to your change in weight/lifestyle, along with the meds. You could possibly ask your doc if you could try to reduce your meds and see how you get on ?

Doctor is asking to take medicine for lifetime and he is not doing any kind of discussion with the patients...just do what I say behaviour.

Could you ask to see another doctor ? Have you discussed reducing meds rather than stopping them ? Nobody here is going to adjust your medication for you, sorry !

Ok but what about these questions -

Your numbers at present are very good and fall into pre-diabetic range. This however is due to the meds and weight loss so difficult to say for sure. If you stopped the meds, your numbers will rise and you are T2. As for diabetes progression, much of it will depend on how well you can continue to control your condition.
