Hi,

It could be so many different things that can cause your pain.

"Stress thinking about it does not help".

Your doctor can perform the necessary tests to check what is causing your one sided head pains.

You should visit your doctor first, I do not know if your are on medication as there could be some kind of side effect.

Good Luck.

Roy. :)

With HbA1c 9.2 you've probably been diabetic for several years, & complications are beginning. While we cannot diagnose, we can advise from experience.

I was diagnosed in 2000 when I went to the Dr with numbness in one thigh - diabetic neuropathy. I was given to understand that I would have to live with it, & that controlling blood glucose was the best treatment. I was also given the usual diet advice - plenty of complex carbs, & low fat/sugar/salt. After 7-8 years the leg muscle pain was crippling. I found this forum & found the recommendation from some members to reduce carbs drastically. Within 3 months I was out of pain, & 4 years on I am well & free from symptoms, well & active.

AFAIK the best advice is a low carb diet, & get your energy from fats as they occur in your food.

Hey waqas!

As you know, your HbA1c is too high and you need to work on getting that lower - perhaps reducing your carb intake would be a good start? The pain in your legs might be complications as a result of high blood glucose levels, but you need a doctor to confirm that.

As for the one-sided headaches, they might be migraine and completely unconnected with the diabetes. I have migraines and diabetes, but the two are not linked. Just unlucky! Again, go and discuss with your doctor, because if they are migraines, they can prescribe tablets that work really well to stop the pain and if it's not migraine, you need to find out what it is!

Take care

IanD - it's really lovely to hear stories about turnarounds in health like the one you've posted here. Like yourself I've found so much information on this forum that's not just helpful but life-saving. Without this forum I'd be floundering if I only had the NHS to rely on for guidance.
