I have been insulin dependant since being really ill, I was put onto insulin in July, I inject 4 times a day and at the moment I really am fed up of testing and injecting has anybody else been through this. Please help

Been injecting for 12 years and there have been days I wished I didn't have too, thankfully not many, but its now a way of life, I guess I've learned to live with it.........that's all we can do take it one day at a time.....who knows tomorrow they may yet discover a way to make us all better......

I've been on lantus for 20 yrs. I inject normally once a day occasionally twice to counteract something I have consumed Check why you are 4 times a day as for check-in B.S I test when I get out of Bed and 2 hrs after some meals if you check before and after it is usually to learn which foods spike your blood sugar once you have this info in your head so eventually you only need to check when eating something new maybe your on some fast acting insulin lantus is slow release
It does get easier tell your doc/dn of your problems and see if you can change meds or regime

Maybe you could talk to a mental health professional - if possible try to find one specialising in diabetes or chronic illness. At a diabetes clinic near me, they have a wide variety of people you can see - endo, podiatrist, dietitian, educator and psychologist. Many people go through feelings similar to what you're having, I know it is annoying and they never really go away, but with proper help you can learn some coping strategies.

You could always try asking for a Freestyle Libre, some CCGs are funding deserving cases. You might need to emphasise your feelings.

I still think you should discus your regime and ask the reason for this we are not all the same and sometimes Doctors seem to get success with a certain treatment and this becomes their happy place but they are other options I was up to readings over 12 a few years ago but I have never been prescribed anything other than Lantus oh and exercise helps
