So, I'm 17 years old and some months ago I noticed that my thirst had increased. So I searched for that problem online and I found out that it's possible I have diabetes type 1. However, knowing that I am a hypochondriac (another time I thought I was suffering from cancer), I decided not to pay much attention to the problem. So I kind of forgot about it, till some weeks ago when my thirst became so intense that I had to have a bottle of water with me all the time. I did a blood test as well as urine, and everything was just fine, including blood sugar levels which were in the normal range. My blood pressure was also fine too. So the doctor that examined me told me that I am organically perfect for my age and it's probably something "in my mind." But I wasn't satisfied with this answer and I went to a local hospital. There they booked me an appointment in a month from now, saying that it's not something very urgent. However, I feel like one month from now will be too late. I'm thirsty all the time, I feel numbness in my feet and hands periodically and also it's been two days since my gums started to heart. I get blurry vision too sometimes. What do you suggest I do now?

You need to see a Dr. Go back with one of your parents and if they dismiss you insist on a referral to a consultant or other Dr. It could be diabetes but there are other things it could be (adrenal glands?) .

@Diabetic_Guy Did the doctor who examined you do a blood glucose test? You say he told you you were in very good health. That should reassure you.

You said you did your own test at home and got a normal result. What result did you get?

Thirst can be caused by many, many things. Type 1 diabetes also has additional symptoms as well as thirst. You don't appear to be suffering from any of those from what you've said.

You've mentioned you suffer from health anxiety. It would be best to go back to your GP and chat through your concerns.

Edited to add that I see you've mentioned hurting gums. Dental problems can aLso cause thirst and an excessively dry mouth. I suggest you also see a dentist.
