Plummeting !!

Is your food to insulin ratio correct? Have you been getting hypos after supper regularly or is it just today - if just today can you think of anything different that's happened? If nothing, then I'm afraid you may never find out why you plummeted and that it is a complete one-off. Frustrating when that happens though. Hope you've managed to treat the low sugar quickly.

Hi Hilary2 this is such a frustrating condition and hope you are feeling ok after such a plummet. I posted last week after having a rather nasty hypo with a reading of 6.3 before my evening meal. Didn't even get to doing my injection before I was shaking and sweating like mad. Sorry can't explain your drop, but just wanted to say hope you are ok x

Hi Hilary52,
I saw your other post earlier on today, is this the first time you've done carb counting this evening? I put up a post but it got deleted as my internet timed out. I was just saying that 1u to 10g works for a lot of people and is a good place to start but it's not the correct dosage for everyone. In the mornings especially if I'm very tired I will use 1u to 5-7g depending on what I'm eating and what my bg is. The rest of the day I'm 1 to 10g but occasionally when my hormones play up I will only need 1u to 20g. It can take a lot of trial and error, don't be put off though, knowing how to carb count and ratio your insulin will give the best results in the long term. Also it may be what you had for dinner if it contains a lot of fiber or fat etc it can slow down the release of carbohydrate so some people then like to split their doses to solve this. Hopefully you are feeling better now. Good luck

I think it just happens sometimes :( I had a horrible hypo this morning after breakfast and correct dose of insulin (as usual) I stuffed my mouth with sweets and tasted 5 min later and it was 2.2  i paniced slightly and overtreated with 200ml of juice and end up with 13
