I wondered if there is someone who can help me with gathering the latest info/research on some insulins causing myalgia. There is already a thread on joint and muscle pain but it seems to have petered out........no recent posts. My husband is suffering dreadfully at the moment and I am trying to convince him to at least be open to the possibility that the lantus might be involved.
I am new to this site and would appreciate some feedback that my posts are being received. thanks

HI and welcome,
I haven't heard of this but i will look it up and try to gather info for you.
Does your husband suffer with nerve pain (neuropathy).
Take care
Tracey

HI
Lok at the instructions of the Lantus and look at the side effects ( myalgia is mentioned under the very rare side effects, if your not happy then talk to your doctor.
PLEASE READ THE LEAFLET as i am not a doctor.
Take care
Tracey

thanks Tracey,
he has some neuropathy but what he is suffering is 100 times worse in a relatively short period of time...........hardly able to walk......stand up......etc there is a thread on this .Joint and muscle pain. One of the major contributors is janabelle I think but dont know how I would make contact. She seems convinced that this syndrome exists linked to lantus. No recent posts though. Any thing you can do will be much appreciated.

HI Bettybloo
I hope you and your husband are both well.
If you go to the top of the forum page to the search button type in janabelle and she will automatically come up.
I have read some more on polymyalgia and most mention after trying ibrufen they would usually start prednisolone (steriod) but i gather you may alreay now this.
But it still comes up as a rare reaction regarding Lantus, but i mentioned this before.
Has your husband improved at all.
HOpe all is well. Take care
Tracey
